FBI Investigates Deadly Car Crash in New York

Vehicle explodes, kills two, injures five in Rochester on New Year’s Eve.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced that officials are reviewing the circumstances around an explosive car crash that killed two people and injured five at a New Year’s Eve concert in Rochester, New York. A jazz band was performing at the Kodak Center when an SUV carrying a dozen gasoline canisters struck another vehicle at around 12:50 a.m., killing the two passengers in the second automobile, gravely injuring pedestrians, and causing a large fire that took the fire department almost an hour to put out.

“The FBI Buffalo Field Office is assisting the Rochester Police Department in the investigation of a motor vehicle collision on West Ridge Road in Rochester,” the FBI stated. “As we continue to investigate and collaborate with our law enforcement partners, details are limited at this time.”
